Meet the Full Moon Rising Team
dr. jenny dedecker (owner)
Jenny DeDecker is a Michigan Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Bodyworker. She has her Doctorate of Philosophy and Masters of Science in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University. Her graduate work focused on incorporating Mindfulness and Compassionate Care Training Programs into health care and education and the role of self-care in burnout prevention and the mitigation of compassion fatigue..
In 2005, Jenny graduated from the University of Kansas with a double B.A. in Human Biology and Anthropology and a Minor Certificate in Religious Studies. In 2007, she completed a 700 hour Therapeutic Massage and Somatic Bodywork program at the Arcata School of Massage (ASM) in Arcata, California. It was there that her love and admiration for the body continued to flourish. Upon graduation, Jenny was offered an instructor and administration position at ASM, where she taught and assisted in courses including pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, massage technique, somatic bodywork and craniosacral therapy. Jenny supervised at the student clinic, as well as maintained a private practice in Arcata.
In 2009, Jenny moved to the Upper Peninsula and began her massage practice working at Spinal Solutions in Norway, and Radiant Natural Health Clinic in Niagara, WI, before opening Full Moon Rising in 2014. She continues her education in bodywork, having completed over 500 CE hours in various modalities, including Orthopedic Massage, Orthobionomy, Visionary Craniosacral Work, Zero Balancing, Visceral Manipulation, and Reiki. She believes in the art and science of therapeutic massage, combining creativity and intuition with her physiological understanding of the human body.
Jenny has been practicing Meditation and Yoga for over 25 years and they continue to be a major part of her life. She began her mindfulness practice with meditation and found Yoga to be a great complement bringing together body, mind and spirit. Jenny has studied under teachers in Kansas, California, and Australia. In 2016, she completed the Power of Awareness course through Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Jenny believes in the power of meditation and yoga for physical, spiritual and emotional transformation. She has been teaching for 11 years and loves how everyday brings something new to the mat.
Jenny’s continued admiration of the human body dovetails with her passion for breastfeeding and natural birth. Her daughter was born in Northern California where breastfeeding was the norm and natural birth was encouraged. Upon moving to the U.P. and having her son, she realized there was a need in this community for support of women and families wishing to breastfeed. This need, along with her strong passion, lead Jenny to the field of Lactation. In 2013, she completed the Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding Lactation Counsellor Certification program and shortly thereafter became a Certified Birth Doula through DONA International. Jenny currently offers private lactation counselling and labor support. She is also the chair and co-founder of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Lactation Coalition, UPMILC, striving to promote, protect and support breastfeeding in the U.P. In 2016, Jenny founded the Full Moon Doulas, a collective of birth doulas, coming together to support and empower childbearing women and their families.
Jenny is C0-director of Middleway Method, a not-for-profit organization that provides a framework for individuals, families, and organizations to bring meaning and purpose into our work and our lives.

Mary Inglese
Mary was born and raised in the local area and graduated from Kingsford. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from NMU and throughout her work experience has seen the importance of self-care, disease prevention and healthy living. She began experimenting with yoga after suffering a running injury and has been hooked ever since."It helped me become grounded and more balanced in my crazy, busy life." The physical, mental and spiritual benefits she experienced inspired her to learn more about the history and teachings of yoga and in 2018 she became a certified yoga instructor through Empower Yoga of Wisconsin and has offered a variety of classes in the local area.
She continues to develop her practice through study and yoga retreats around the world. Mary is excited and grateful to share the gift of yoga with the Full Moon Rising community.
Stacy harrison
Stacy Harrison is an educator and wellness advocate who is passionate about helping others live wholehearted lives and nurture themselves — mind, body, and spirit.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, Master’s Degree in Writing, and Certifications in Yoga, Pilates, and Wellness Coaching.
Stacy’s own wholehearted dream-chasing has led her, along with her husband and three homeschooled sons, to raising poultry, sheep, goats and honeybees at their small farm in the Central UP. Stacy enjoys gardening, writing, theatre, community chorus and making tiny steps of progress in learning to play the banjo.
Stacy believes wellness is achieved by making hundreds of small, but intentional choices each day. Clean eating, movement, creativity, relaxation, and prayer are the heart of Stacy’s wellness regimen, and she enjoys helping others create space for these practices in their own ordinary, sacred days.
Casey (Capra) Pirkola
Casey graduated from Iron Mountain High school and then received her BSN from Michigan State University in 2006. She discovered the field of oncology nursing with her first nursing job. It did not take long for her to realize she had a genuine passion for helping people and in particular felt a strong connection with her oncology patients. She continues to work as an oncology nurse here in our community. Casey was first introduced to yoga in 2008 as a form of physical activity and continued to practice for the physical benefits upon returning to the U.P. in 2013. She was warmly welcomed into our local yoga community where she was exposed to a different yogic thought process, one that incorporates the union (yoga) of philosophical, spiritual, psychological, and physical parts into a practice that encompasses the entire self. Casey began to see the mental and emotional benefits of this type of focus which in turn deepened her yoga practice. She strives to integrate this philosophy of yoga into daily life. Casey is currently working towards obtaining her Hatha Yoga Teacher Certificate from Aura Wellness Center with an emphasis on gentle movement and breath work. She feels blessed to continue her yoga journey along the path of teaching with Jenny at Full Moon Rising and our yoga community.
